This article explains the procedure of disabling system apps.
- Login to AMGuard console with your credentials
- Click on Policy Groups from left menu and notice list of policies. For the first time, you will see only default policies though.
Note : Apps can be disabled only for Kiosk & Work Managed policy types
- Go to policy details either by clicking on policy name or edit button as shown in below picture
- Go to Policy tab > App Management > Disable
- For the first time, you will not notice any apps in Disable section. You can proceed to add apps from two placeholders
- Add New
- Available Apps
Add New
- Clicking on "Add New" will show a pop-up asking for app details.
- Provide App Name and Package ID in respective fields. And click on Add.
- To depict the scenario, we have added Contacts and My Files application.
Note : You can find App Name and Package ID from Device Details > Application
- Once added, the app will be disabled on the device and user will not be able to access the app.
Available Apps
- Disable apps that are already added to the policy from "Available Apps" section. This section displays custom, playstore and system apps that are added.
- Select the app, enable disable button and click on Save. For example, lets disable Slack app.
- Notice Slack app on the device is disabled and when user tries to access the app it shows custom alert message.
