This article explains the process of disabling power off option on the device, once power off button is disabled, mobile users will not be able to power off the device.
This feature works differently on different OEMs and some OEMs it may not work.
Please go through the following to check on how to disable power off button.
Also note that any changes made as shown below, will be reflected to ALL devices within the policy.
- Login to AMGuard console with valid credentials
- Go to Policy Groups by clicking on Policy Groups option on left bar.
- Disable power off is available only in Kiosk & Work managed policies. Select either of the policies from the list.
- In policy pop-up, click on “Policy” tab
- Go to “Security” section and scroll down to find “Allow Power Off” option. By default, the option is enabled, meaning mobile users can power off their devices.
- In order to disable, click on the toggle button. Please refer to screen below.
Pre-requisite : Device is connected to stable network
- Now click on “SAVE AND CONTINUE” and make sure the changes are reflected on the device.
- Once the policy is updated on the device, mobile user will not be able to power off the device.
- As mentioned in top section, this works differently on different devices. For example, on
- Samsung devices – “Security policy prevents turning off” is displayed if power off is disabled
- LG devices – “Power off option will be disabled” is displayed if power off is disabled
